Welcome to our school, OUR COMMUNITY!
In partnership with BronxWorks, the Jill Chaifetz Transfer School (JCTS) was founded in 2007 by Anne Fennelly. JCTS is a second-chance school for students who are considered over-age and under-credited to obtain their high school diploma.
Working closely with teachers and advisers, students receive the necessary academic and social support to help them earn the required credit amount to graduate with a traditional high school diploma. With the proper support, students are able to meet regularly with their advisers and track their progress.
Students can earn up to 22 credits each year when taking into account the opportunity for summer courses and after-school courses (PM school).* Students are also offered internship opportunities throughout the year where they work closely with a supervisor and gain work experience.**
*A list of our PM school courses are available in the 'WHAT WE'RE DOING" section.
** This opportunity is paid and does not count for course credit.
